The Terror Continues…
One of my brothers informed me a little while ago that SyFy, that esteemed purveyor of fine made-for-TV schlock, has signed Roger Corman to helm - wait for it- Sharktopus.
Yeah. Sharktopus. The mutant love-child of Mega Shark and Giant Octopus, no doubt.
This proves conclusively that any concept can be sold as a film given the right circumstances.
Look for this blockbuster to show up sometime in 2010, with a review here to follow. In the meanwhile, I'll leave readers with this little gem of concept art:
I can hardly wait...

And to think, Roger Corman rejected Waterworld because it would have cost over five million to make! From the linked site:
That may be more effort than Asylum would have put into it.

I’ll up this by one level. There’s already been discussion of bearsharktopus http://www.buzzfeed.com/markwmann/bearsharktopus-e5y/
Maybe we should be careful not give them any more ideas.

If only my photoshop skills were up to it: sharkittentopus, puppycondamster, manponysquito, cobramouspossum, etc. I think we need to get an intellectual property lawyer and go to town with these, then sell them to SyFy, Chiller, or Asylum.

Too bad Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron already have the lock on crocoduck…

I am reminded of the wedding of two friends, several decades ago. One of the preliminary celebratory parties was a “tacky wedding present” presentation. I won, marginally, with the jewel- encrusted bottle and can opener from Mt. Vernon. However, several weeks later I had to yield the title to a relative of the bride, who presented something even tackier as a real present. Decorum and kindness prevented informing the new winner. I fear Mssrs Comfort and Cameron may be in that same category. I am not sure I would declare them winners
